We have been delighted that in recent years, that many of the schools in the city have been involved with the Carnival in some way from fantastic maypole dancers to making decorations, joining the Street Carnival and even building a float for the river procession (Madley School are currently the Wye winners as far as schools are concerned).
You could build a float, take part in the Street Carnival or get involved in another way. Let us have your ideas. There are also schools and open workshops in the run up to the event. Watch this website for more information.
It’s so easy to get involved in the Street Carnival – you don’t have to sign up; just turn up on Castle Green at about 12.30 (to get in the mood) and join the fun at 1.00pm. Make costume, carnival crown or mask, carnival structure, banner, flag or come along and join the Carnival Band – we’ll teach you how to drum at the Carnival.
Your school, academy, college, band, group or club could be part of the fun in 2018.
If you are interested or would like to get involved in 2018, get in touch with Stuart at firstname.lastname@example.org.
