Children and young people play a huge role in making the Carnival the exciting and lively occasion.
And there are lots of things for them to do.
This year the Carnival will include a range of activities from the crafty to the sporty, from music and dance to the colourful Street Carnival itself. The site will be littered with things for kids of all ages to do, from circus skills and Carnival drumming to messy play for the toddlers. You can get your face painted too – and of course there’s Danter’s famous funfair.
Make a special carnival aeroplane at home and bring it along or make one on the day. Then join in the mass aeroplane fly past in the afternoon. How many planes can we get airborne at the same time?
There’ll be cress heads to make courtesy of Hellens Garden Festival and the Steiner School and loads of really cool things to make and do with Herefordshire Wildlife Trust and in the h.Energy village.
We’ll also have mermaid and Minotaur masks to colour in and wear in the Street Carnival. Come along to one of our workshops over the Easter holidays to join in the fun making Carnival masks and creatures. More details here soon.
